Jesus leads the Church; under His authority, Remnant practices a leadership model consisting of the biblical offices of elder and deacon (1 Timothy 3; Philippians 1:1) with a staff that equips the members for the work of ministry. Elders oversee and shepherd the church, our staff serve and prepare people to carry out the mission of Jesus in New York City, and deacons assist in various ministries and support church unity. Our vision for leadership is to have staff, elders, and deacons providing spiritual leadership.

STAFF

Pastor Joseph Chung hails from sunny California.  He began his ministry as a youth pastor in 1991 and has been serving the Lord since then.  He graduated with a BA in Missiology from Bethesda Christian University & received his M. Div. from Evangel Theological Seminary.  In 2005, he joined AMI and moved to the east coast with his family.  He joined the staff of GCC in July of 2010 with much enthusiasm and passion.  In August of 2015, he moved to NYC where he currently resides.  He is married to Hanna and they have two boys, Jedidiah & Jeremiah.

Pastor John is the Executive Pastor at Remnant Church. Loved and bought by God, he began ministry in 2012. John & Grace are excited to experience what God is already doing, beyond our imagination, in God's Church, God's People, and God's City. It has been John's utmost delight to enjoy God and obey God. His greatest joy is to see people experience the living God and worship in Spirit and Truth. John, his wife Grace, and their daughter Talia live in Manhattan. They enjoy cooking, going to the park, playing games, and having adventures. John graduated from NYU with a B.A. in Psychology, and received his Master of Divinity from Biola University - Talbot School of Theology.

When Pastor Richard moved into the Kips Bay Neighborhood 12 years ago he saw the need of urban ministry in this community.  He served and developed programs for homeless outreach and inner city youth ministry as well as connecting with diverse groups in the neighborhood. God connected him with Remnant Church in May 2012 and a year later in June 2013, he went on a mission trip to Guatemala for the first time with Remnant members. In December 2013, Pastor Richard joined Remnant as an outreach pastor.  He has been married to Erika for 25+ years and they have three amazing boys Richard, Paul, and Matheux.  He currently serves in Harvest outreach services and The Vine tutoring program for families in the Kips Bay community.

Eunice has the immense privilege of serving as a pastoral intern for Remnant Church, which has been her spiritual home since 2014. She has been blessed to receive God’s transformational healing and restoration over her life, and through His gentle leading, she made the move from middle school teacher to staff intern in 2022. Since then, Eunice has been serving as a worship leader of Remnant’s English Congregation, as well as College Pastoral Intern since 2024. She’s currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, and has a B.S. in Education from NYU.

Ivy Lee was born and raised in Colorado and came to New York City as a college student in 2015. Since then, God has brought her to experience Him deeply at Remnant Church by building a spiritual family and serving Him. In 2022, she received the calling into ministry and has been obedient to His call by serving as Remnant's Children's Ministry Director. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at Asbury Theological Seminary and has a BFA in Fashion Design from Parsons the New School of Design.

Henry has had the pleasure of growing up in Remnant and is a New York native. He joined Remnant as a youth student and now has the privilege of serving the students of Remnant in the Sunday school. He also helps with general church operations. Henry received the invitation into ministry and joined Staff in 2023. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
